It was pretty much evens stevens till the tie breaker , both players were playing high quality tennis , every point they had to earn , they had to force pressure on the opponent to commit the unforced errors .
At the nearing of the 2nd set close to the tie breaker , we began to see the best tennis produced by Djokovic which he truely can produce in Game 12 , his forehand shot was really powerly , and he hit a brillant backhand crosswinner to force the 2nd set into a tie breaker !
As Djokovic was turning his game to a whole new level , he upted his power when it was certainly needed , Andy could created chances to go for a 2 sets to love , but Djokovic denied Andy the chance as he wrapped up the tie breaker and took the 2nd set .

It was easy service games from both the player errors were starting to get low for Novak and Murray started to get a ti bit tensed .
Novak Djokovic is truely sportsman , in game 7 when there was a tight rally , Andy Murray produced one of the best cross court winners of the match , there were applauses  from the world no 1 himself .
Murray was struggling in the end of the 4th set , there were pulls from back of his left thigh . Game 8  was the deciding factor to the set as Novak had broken Murray serve for the first time in the match with  a forehand off winner and a forehand cross court winner .

Djokovic Broke Murray's serve at game 3  with some lovely returns and a forehand winner at 30/15 .Game 5 was also a nerve rackling contest on Murray's serve the Brit was trying on hang on in the match as long as possible , but Djokovic as we takes his game to next level and to next level . In game 5 his Backhand was absolutely brilliant in the start of the game he produced a Backhand off winner, he was able to finally get his delicate drops to work  . Inspired Murray Battles Through Roger

It was a match worthy for a Semi final , Murray comes into the Semis without loosing a set , nor his serve .
Federer who a beaten Tsongo in a 5 set encounter against Jo was up and ready for the task set against him .
Murray led the stand off head record 10-9  . Murray at the end edge out Federer in 5 sets winning the Swiss 6-4 6-7 6-3 6-7 6-2 .

Set 1
Both players had easy starts on their service games , but Federer serve was at question at the very beginning of the match his first serve % was very low . Murray broke Federer's serve in the 3rd game by producing one the most amazing forehand cross winners a person could see .Murray was serving big , really big .
It was a whole new Murray we got to see from 2012 , his off-season preparation seems to have paid of .
His athelitism was really a sight to see , the way he was moving on the court was tremendous .Murray served out the set with an ace and a huge forehand .

Set 2
It was easy service going for Andy Murray , who seem to never struggle in his service , aces from bursting fro m Murray , Federer's service was still not working to its potential  , he struggled in almost all of his service games  , but he was able to stay on course of the match .
Andy Murray showed brilliance in Game 08 , 09 and 10   , his forehand winners were really amazing to watch  and his back hand winner in game 11 was an outstanding sight to watch.
It was down  to the tie breaker , and it was a never racking contest .
This where every one would thought that Andy would steam roll Roger , but his service which helped in all points of the match was missing  and it was Rogers serve was doing the talking a forced forehand error sealed the the tie breaker for Roger

Set 3.
There was a BIG difference of speed between Murray's first serve and 2nd serve and Federer return of on 2nd serve affected Andy Murray a lot.
In the 6th game of the 3rd set  , Andy started to make his move hitting sublime tennis shots to make to pressure roger , a forehand and a backhand error allowed Murray to break Roger .
After that is was a straight fast moving train on Murray;s serve .
He served a huge 207 km / Hr .
Sealed the 3rd set with a score 6-3

Set 4
Federer serve was at question the entire match , and the first game of the 4th set was no different , but the Swiss is a champion and proved so why hitting 3 forehand winners to come out of  a chance to be broke again.
Andy Murray service continue to stay strong , his forehand cross and off was going strong , after his 1st service game closed he accumulated 13 forehand winners .
The 4th game of the set , where things completely changed , couple of backhand errors allowed Roger to get the break . Roger went to lead 4-1 , But Andy didn't let Roger to run of the break , immediately breaking the Swiss in his next service game .
The quality of tennis improved as the match went on and on  , Game 8  and 9 were most intense were both players peaked to their best of forms  , hitting winners here and there .
Murray broke Federer in 11th game and had the chance to serve for the match . All seemed lost to Roger's Fan at Rod Laver Area . But the Swiss produced one of the most best every single hand backhand down the line winner and broke back to stay alive in the match .
Like how Murray's First didnt work in the tie breaker in the 2nd set , it didn't work here as well Roger winning the tie breaking and the set .

Set 5
Having made an amazing comeback into the match , Roger Federer wasnt able to sustain that motivation he had in the end of the 4th set to bring it to the final set of the match .

Heavy hitting from Murray gave him a 3-0 lead after 12 minutes of play in the fifth set. Federer, who had framed a backhand at 30/40 in the second game, was not allowed to get a foothold in the set. Murray’s ace count continued to rise and his ability to strike pin-point groundstroke winners from the baseline extinguished any chance Federer had of reaching his 25th Grand Slam championship final.

Andy Murray will try to become the only first-time Grand Slam winner to immediately claim a second major at the next opportunity.

Tremendous Tipsarevic wins Aco 2013

It was finally a match of high standards , a match where it was winners which decided the wins of the games than errors  .
Janko Tipsarevic finally won his first Aircel Chennai open title after coming to chennai 6 times .

After coming up runner in 2012's edition , Janko's chances to win the title this year hit a bump as Roberto Bautista Agut took out the first set , but Janko didnt allow the loss of the first set to distract him.He dug within and came as the winner , he wont the match 3-6 6-1 6-3.
Set 1
It was Agut's first ever Atp final appearance  , one would have thought he would be having match nerves , we were obviously wrong .He shows no match at all breaking Janko serve at the 2nd game it self with 2 forehand down the line and one forehand return winner shot .
Janko wasnt making any unforced errors , very rarely did we any . It was Agut's aggression which allowed him to strive forward . Janko in the end of the first set showed why he was a top 10 player , but it was a bit to late as Agut went to win the first set 6-3 which 3 amazing points , those were a forehand down the line winner ,  Forehand drop volley and an ace.

Set 2
Janko raced to a 5-0 lead in the 2nd set courtesy of unforced errors from Agut . Janko was serving more firmly,  more tightly, more better .Agut's aggression and consistency was lost all of a sudden .In the 6th game of the set , it was looking like that the set would be heading for a 6-0 score , but Agut struggled alot , he made alot of errors , but a backhand passing winner and a backhand down the line changed things suddenly .
Agut's lower stomach seemed to have a problem  , that would explain why his first serve speed reduced dragstically.
Janko didnt serve out the set as well as he wanted to , producing numerous errors wasnt the things we saw earlier on , but a a jab down the line backhand sealed him the set , winning it 6-1 .

Set 3
Agut's serve was a problem that he had to deal from the starting of the 2nd set , and but the starting of the set 3 he was able to produce an ace on the 2nd serve . Both players were playing some seriously outstanding tennis , there were alot of winner exchange between Agut and Janko.
But one stage or the other some player had to take the step and Janko was the one who did da , clusters of errors from Agut allowed him to break him in the 3rd game .
The 7th game of this set was the highlight was the whole match .
Brilliant volleying from Janko , Agut getting alot of footfault calls , receiving time violations  , hitting winners on both his forehand and backhand . In the end Janko pulled it off , and managed to him his first ever Aircel chennai open .

The quotes from some people .
Tom ( the director of the Aco ) "Vanakam Chennai ,. i really must say i m really amazed ,this is my first time coming to Chennai and the reputation i have gotten and stood up to its highest remarks

Allagapon "Both the players player incredible tennis throughout the whole week i d like to congratulate both of them  , and to the crowd you have been getting speculation wether this tournament will continue or not ? well i have some good news . The Tnta has brought up a contract with Img and will continue for the next 3 years .
Janko "I was mentally stable and was not worried when I was one set down," said Tipsarevic. "I didn’t play my best tennis in every match this week, but I am happy to win the title. I really wanted to win this tournament as it is my sixth time here.
“This match was pretty similar to my semi-final win over Aljaz Bedene. I was too passive in the first set and I was relying on Roberto making mistakes in his first ATP World Tour final. I was hoping he would be anxious. I gave him too much time to swing on his forehand. The only way I won, was to step closer to the baseline and I needed to move him around. Physically, as the match wore, on he became tired.
Agut “I was serving really well and playing my best tennis against Janko in the first set, but then I couldn’t keep it up throughout the match," said Bautista Agut. “I improved a lot last year and won a lot of matches, which gave me confidence and experience. I worked hard in the pre-season, with a lot of motivation, and did well this week.

Prakash's Magical Journey ends in Soeda's hands

Aircel Chennai open ( day 3 )
Match Report
Prakash Amritraj vs. Go Soeda
Well to start with this article, there was many questions by numerous fans that why Prakash should have place today’s match? Why not give him the rest? He had faced matches in 3 days (excluding today) and 3 of those matches were 3 setters.
The whole match Prakash was in the line between winning and losing. Fatigue was clearly shown in Prakash’s game. Go Soeda had a scare, no doubt we in the end he won Prakash 7-6 6-3 6-4.
Set 1.
Soeda steamed to a 2-0 lead in less than 5 minutes , he had 3 break points to go up 3-0 , but Prakash’s serve who was his come back weapon rescued him . Prakash actually in the beginning was consistent signs of fatigue was never shown, his wonderful serve the volley’s were a great highlight. Go Soeda known was his amazing back hand winner hard hitting consistency didn’t fail to show why he was best at what he does.
Prakash had 3 set points, but Go Soeda was very persistent that he would not let Prakash win the set easily, had produce utter magically return shots which Prakash had no answer to. After breaking back it Go Soeda all the way, powering through the tie breaker (7-2) to win the first set 7-6.

Set 2
Prakash through the whole tournament had called for assistance after every set, not sure if he was injured or not but we knew for sure that he was fatigue.
But he was a fighter; he showed exactly that in the 2nd set. The 3 rd game is when Soeda started to make unforced errors. After then on Prakash Amritraj defensive skills rose up to a new level and his winners were following in the fastest manner possible. How ever Soeda didn’t completely fail in the set, in the 7th game he came with 3 continuous fore hand winners and an ace. Prakash continued on to win the set 6-3.

Set 3.
As stated in the 1st set , how well Prakash was doing close to the net , he continued with the same consistency , but signs of fatigue was drastically shown by Prakash .His first serve “speed “ wasn’t has fast it was as it was . Errors from both Prakash’s forehand and backhand were adding more and more.
The 9th game was a crucial old for Prakash , everything happened in that game ,Prakash served amazingly , hit beautiful forehand down the line winners, but Soeda was just amazing with his backhand , he amount of power and depth he created was unimaginable , Prakash who was able to return those power shots wasn’t able to return them with power nor depth . Soeda showed class in his play, he brought unexpected shots , even surprising the crowd with some amazing drop shots . He closed the match with an ace , and errors from Prakash led to his victory .

Cilics Digs within to over come Stakhovsky

Aircel Chennai open ( Day 4 ) (3.1.13)
Match Report
M.Cilic vs Stakhovsky. S
Well to start off this article, Marin had faced a scare, a really big scare .These people have meet 2 times before , both in favor of Marin . Marin had to dig through to win , he finally won 4-6 6-2 6-3
Set 1
At the start of the first game it self Cilic was producing a lot of errors. He wasn’t looking at his usually best. Lack of first service caused him this set.
Sergiy on the other hand who had a free flow forehand and amazing to face single hand backhand had done all the right things in this set , but also committed a lot of errors .It was the 7th game where Sergiy had broken Cilic with a beautiful down the line back hand winner and a back hand error . Cilic how ever on the other hand didn’t give up things easily he was able to make Sergiy earn his set and he giving the set to Sergiy .Sergiy served it up when it mattered and won the set 6-4 .

Set 2
The crowd was shocked to see one of their favorite players struggling so much, but Cilic made the crowd chill out within 10 minutes of the 2nd set racing to a 3-0 lead. Cilic seems to serve way better than he did early on, by now he was able to serve aces a lot actually .His forehand was flowing smoother and faster and does the converting forehand winners come to light . Errors from Sergiy helped Cilic clinch the 2nd set 6-2.

Set 3
Many of the matches in ACO were 3 setters (including the qualifiers) .The match between Cilic and Sergiy wasn’t actually a great match, even though Cilic raced again to a 3-0 lead, he committed as much of unforced errors committed by Sergiy. The 7th game of the 3rd set is where Cilic served out a perfect game not allowing Sergiy to make him do any mistakes . Forehand winners which one of Cilic’s trademarks came into play and before we knew it Cilic sealed the final set 6-3 and advance to the quarterfinals

Berdych Has it easy

Berdych vs. Somdev
Both of these players have never met in their lives. Berdych was actually cautious of Somdev as he felt that he could be taken for a ride. Well most of the times what players feel never come to truthful life. Berdych over powered Somdev to a emphatic 6-3 6-1 win and moved on to the quarter finals
Set 1
Somdev faced 1st stink of trouble in the 2nd game it self where he literaly struggled to save his service game, the crowd was really an amazing supporter for Somdev , knowing that he was losing they still supported him .Berdych was producing hard rock tennis hitting amazing powerful forehand winners .Somdev on the other hand was struggling weak power servicing was the sole reason why half of Berdych came through .At the end of this set Somdev finally produce a winner , it was a forehand passing winner .Errors from Somdev gave Berdych the first set 6-3

Set 2.
Berdych flowed through Somdev in the second amazing serving, amazing volleys, amazing service and volleys made Somdev looked a nothing compared to Berdych. There were some positives from Somdev as his service angles gave him a few points, but not enough to stop the hard hitting winner Berdych. Somdev was out of luck and had no clue what do, hitting to many unforced errors gave Berdych the set and the match.
He won 6-1.

Paire Shocks 2 time champion Cilic

Aircel Chennai Open (Day 5) (4.1.13)
Match Report
Marin Cilic vs. Benoit Paire
It wasn’t a match full of great shot making, Marin Cilic the crowd favorite had been defeated by Benoit Paire .These two have never met before and it was their first meeting .
Both players were never at their game , only a few minutes , maybe 15 , both players were playing the game they were supposed to be playing with .At the end Paire was able to edge out Cilic from the match with a score of 6-4 1-6 7-5 .

Set 1.
Cilic never at all looked best at all, he showed the same poor performance from the previous match, cluster of enforced errors allowed Paire to break in the 3rd game .Paire was clocking his first service at 205 km an hour, but even though serving at such a fast speed he lost his serve and break of serve advantage in the 6th game. Cilic looked tired in the humid conditions but once the sun set Cilic started to play a bit better. It was like a you break my serve and I ll break yours, Paire broke Cilic’s serve in the next game (7) with brilliant return winners. In the end, even though Cilic was able to hit a couple of winners his unforced errors gave Paire the first set 6-4.

Set 2.
Cilic wasn’t read to give it up, he wanted to prove why he had won this title 2 times already. He broke Paire straight away in the 2nd game. His service however was a big question mark we aren’t able to see those strong serves which wins him matches.
The 6th game was most interesting game of the mall , Paire who had 2 success with the drop shot was persistent to keep on trying it , but he was doing one to many times and his backhand was starting to be inconsistent and his composure level started to dip .
Cilic out the set with 2 aces which we finally got to witness, he won the set 6-1

Set 3.
After coming back so strong in the match Cilic continued his good momentum into the 3rd set, breaking Paire serve right away. But Cilic couldn’t sustain his consistent performance , Paire had produced 2 amazing scintillating backhand return winners to break back .It was after this where Cilic and Paire played really good tennis , when Cilic hit a down the line winner , Paire replied with an even stronger down the line winner .
Paire in the 8th game was really terrible he had the chance to break, but instead he’d settle with 3 continuous forehand unforced errors. Game 10 is crucial game for Cilic, but he was calm under pressure serving 2 aces. But could Cilic play with pressure?
no he wasn’t able to hitting unforced errors means that you cant win points , it means you give a away points , those 2 forehand and 1 backhand errors cost him the game and the match .
Paire had ousted the 3rd seed and played well to earn it !

Joyfull Janko Enters Semis

Match Report (4.1.2013 )
Janko Tipsarevic vs. Go Soeda.
It was repeat of 2012 semi finals where Go Soeda was a qualifier and had made an amazing journey to the semis finals, where as for Janko it was chance for him to finally to his first ACO final. But past is past and both players were in total business.
Set 1
Go started the 1st game with 3 aces .Janko didn’t go off to a flying start as he had loss his service game.
But once Janko got into the mood there was no holding back from him, banging winners from left and corner. But Soeda committed a lot of unforced errors and 5th game he had committed 5 unforced errors to allow Janko to break again and lead the set 3-2. Janko had served with a clever and technical mind; his first serve % was high, and he able to serve 4 aces in the first set. He ended the first set with an ace. He won the set 6-2.
Set 2
Soeda in the 2nd set was way better than the first he had began the ace with a forehand converting winner and an ace. Soeda was able to play good rallies, set up the points well but was not able to just finish them off. Like in the chase of the 3rd game where he just had to flow his back for an easy winner but had tried to play it cheeky, and also where just had to do a simple volley but he tried to produce a drop volley which had failed in the end. The errors of Soeda were coming down, but Janko was producing just genius tennis making shots and Soeda had no clue what to do.
In the end Janko won the set with clean service sweep game, and advance to the semi finals.

Interview with Vijay Amritraj

Me : Good morning Vijay sir , mind if I ask you a couple of question regarding the ACO
Vijay : Sure go ahead
Me : Well the first one would be , who would be your pick for the winner of this years title ?
Vijay : Well 1st all it’s a draw of 32 , and not a draw of the 4 seeds , I do know that people understand that it will be only the 4 seed who has the real chance to win the title but we could see some real upsets this tournaments .
Me : Well my 2nd question sir would be how do u see the future of Indian tennis heading , we can see that there is a total of 17 Indians in the qualifying rounds this year more than half of the total number of qualifying players .
Vijay : Indian tennis is heading for a real bright future . As you said 17 Indians that a lot of them , Indian tennis is heading into a bright future and within 2 years we can see many people making a break through
Me : Well Sir , last year we saw Somdev slip through the rankings due to shoulder injury , do you think he ll make a come back in the rankings ?
Vijay : For any one to make a rise in the rankings one has to win , its simple , he has a tough draw for the Chennai open it self , lets hope he does well
Me : Well sir my last question , Players like Yuki , Vishu , Sanam , Jeevan have now started to head Indian tennis more futher , do you they are ones who will initate the change and bring rise to Indian tennis ?
Vijay : Ofcourse .
Me : Thanks sir .
Vijay : No problem , Cheers

Cheerful Chennai

The Rise and The Decline .

Today is the final of the Aircel chennai open 2013 !
This year honestly hasnt provided the best of tennis , its been a poor weak of tennis to be actually truthful.
Many stars rose and the actual stars declined .
The rising stars include : Prakash Amritraj ,Bautista Agut,Benoit Parie and Ajax Benede .
The Declining stars are :Marin , Stan and Berdych .
What also worries me is that this is the last year of the contract between the Tnta and Aircel , there hasnt been any information wether that chennai open will continue after this year .

Its Janko vs Agut in the Aco 2013 final !
Congrats to both of them for coming to the final
Will Janko finally have the crown of the aco or will the dark horse Agut stop him ?
Tune in tomorrow after the final to get the match report
Good night :)
